Calling all bargain hunters for Garage Sale Trail across Logan
3 November 2026
Logan residents are being encouraged to grab a bargain, meet their neighbours and give unwanted items a second life as the Garage Sale Trail returns for its final year this November.
Around 20 sales have already been registered across the City of Logan, with locations stretching from New Beith and Woodhill to Regents Park and Rochedale South.
The national event will take place across 2 weekends, on 7-8 November and 14-15 November, offering shoppers the chance to hunt for hidden treasures while supporting a more sustainable future.
After 16 years, Garage Sale Trail will end a run that has seen more than 4 million Australians take part, 7.2 million pre-loved items diverted from landfill and $52 million generated for households, schools, charities and community groups.
This year is expected to be the biggest yet, with more than 8,000 sales already registered nationwide and more than 2.5 million items estimated set to change hands.
From vintage homewares and collectable vinyl to books, toys and furniture, every sale offers the possibility of uncovering something unique.
For many Logan households, the event is also an opportunity to declutter while earning extra cash. Going on the average of past years, household hosts around the country made about $761 across the event weekends, while community groups, schools and charities earned an average of $1,325.
Garage Sale Trail Director Barbara Gill says the final event is a chance for people to embrace the thrill of second-hand shopping and community connection.
‘This is the last chance to shop Garage Sale Trail as we know it, so grab a tote bag, plot your route and hit the streets,’ Ms Gill says.
‘Go a few suburbs further than usual, haggle with a neighbour and come home with something that has a story behind it. Let's make the final hunt the biggest one yet.’
Since launching in 2010, Garage Sale Trail has helped more than 134,000 garage sales be held around the country, creating more than 2 million community connections and helping drive Australia's growing circular economy.
Last year alone, more than 330,000 people participated in 13,421 sales nationwide, helping save an estimated 2,722 tonnes of carbon emissions - the equivalent of taking 1,125 cars off the road.
