First 'fast food' in Cornubia

The Logan suburb of Cornubia now has its first fast food restaurant, which opened in August as part of a well-known chain continuing its Queensland expansion.

The newly-opened Hungry Jack's Cornubia restaurant has created more than 50 local jobs for the semi-rural suburb, located next to Carbrook.

The local community was invited to celebrate the opening with a live DJ at the restaurant site, located at 258 Beenleigh Redland Bay Road, across the road from Riverlakes Village.

Hungry Jack’s General Manager Queensland, Chris Smith Churchmichael, says the new restaurant includes a drive-thru, 4 self-service kiosks, seating for more than 50 people, and will be open 7 days a week. The fast food chain began in Australia in Perth, 1971, and now has more than 480 restaurants in Australia.

'Cornubia is part of an important growth corridor between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, making it a natural location for Hungry Jack’s to continue expanding its Queensland footprint,' Mr Churchmichael says.

'Our new Cornubia Restaurant team, made up of over 50 employees hired locally, look forward to welcoming the rest of the community in Cornubia for many years to come.'

Facilities in Cornubia include the Mount Cotton Driver Training Centre, the Cornubia Park Sports Centre, St Matthew's Catholic Primary School, and Chisholm Catholic College.
